Description: This is a World War ll Bundles for Britain embossed 9" plate made in Steubenville in conjunction with the Dept of State. The circular glazed white plate bears molded rose/thistle and shamrock/ daffodil motif around the entire edge of the plate with the gold lion bearing the motfo Dieu et Mon Droit (God and My Right) which is the motto of the monarch of the UK. These plates were given in recognition of the Americans who collected diverse non-military items that were shipped to the British citizens prior to the USA entry into the war. They were produced from 1939 until 1945. This dates these plates to 80 plus years. This plate is in excellent vintage condition, there is crazing on the plate not unexpected considering the age and conditions of production at the time. The plate measures 9" in diameter. No cracks or chips.
