Description: A woven basket for display or serving. Don't remember where we got it or how old it might be, or what fibers are used in it. There are 3 or 4 different kinds of weaving in this basket: The bottom is woven in a traditional "over/under" method with 1/2 inch fibers one directionand a different, darker, 1/4" fiber the going the other direction - like a checkerboard. It looks like the sides were first woven in groups of 3 half inch strips. Another fiber was braided. 4 braids were woven "over/under" at the top.Then 4 braids were woven alternately at the bottom. It's difficult to explain. The photos tell it better.
