Description: Up for bid is a fancy sterling small berry serving spoon in the VIOLA pattern by Wood & Hughes, introduced in 1875, sadly damaged. The spoon is 8 3/4 inches long and weighs 54 grams. The bowl interior is stippled and decorated with engraving under a light gold wash. The spoon is monogrammed "MS” on the handle front. The spoon is marked with the Wood & Hughes trademark and “STERLING”. Condition on the spoon is fair. The bowl has a crack along one of the bowl ribs as shown, though it is easy to miss if you aren’t looking for it. Otherwise it is in surprisingly good shape. Still a pretty Victorian serving piece!
