The tool has rubber cushioned handles for easier use when applying leverage to break the tire bead away from the wheel's bead seat. This wide-foot model is zinc coated and spreads the load over a larger area of the tire, which is especially helpful on soft sidewall racing tires. It is designed for 15-inch wheels, but can be used with smaller diameter wheels by shortening the hook bar length and cutting a new hook location. For wheels larger than 15 inches in diameter a longer hook bar will need to be fabricated.
