Description: Up for bids is a Western Electric Type 520 Telephone. This phone was known as an "explosive environment" phone and NOT a "Bomb/Explosion proof" phone! They were meant to be used in environments where any risk of a spark, static or otherwise would be potentially deadly, thus the name "explosive or hazardous ENVIRONMENT." Any sellers calling this "explosion/bomb proof" don't now what they are selling. Any explosion would blow the plastic handset and dial apart. It's untested. The handset is long gone and was cut off. The lock is gone. Knowing the quality of WE stuff, I'd guess it probably works but I cannot say for sure. The dial turns but the shaft appears bent just slightly. The hookswitch works fine and overall it's in decent shape with no visible dents. I touched up all the scratches but you may want to repaint it later. I'm guessing this was made in the late 60's or early 70's and was apparently sold by GE in 1984, as seen by the sticker. AS ISNO REFUNDS FOR REPAIR OR PARTS.
