Description: When I was a kid growing up in the 1950s, a "Made in Japan" label was a sign of novelty goods, generally cheaply-made. Not only was that not true of pre-WWII items, but Japanese craftsmanship re-asserted itself in even the smallest items, like these simple stamp sets. From the quality of the stamps themselves to the woods used to adding spacers in between the rows to a little "nicety" like adding a finger indent in the middle of the stamp stick...this is what defines "impressive" for me. I found this set as well as its matching Size 00 figure set, and other size number and figure sets among my late sister Betsy's immense crafts collection. You'll find them elsewhere in this shop. Please note: I am selling two seemingly-equally used sets of #00 alphabets (see Condition above). If you have a preference for one or the other, please add a message to your purchase. If you buy both, you will receive a 10% discount. Choose the Flat Rate Padded Envelope shipping option to pay only $2.50 more in postage for the second set (depending where you live). (Message me if there are any issues.) Thanks for looking!Rick
