Description: Vtg Bright Scrappy Stripe Quilt Top Feed Sack Triangle Rectangle 79x66 Blue Red This quilt top is in good vintage shape. It has various browning, miscellaneous marks, fade to some fabrics, etc. There is fraying to edges, as you would expect of a vintage top, and some misc small tears and seam damage. Free of offensive odors and added fragrance. It has a mild old stored fabric odor but not mildew, smoke or anything like that. It has been aired. Please see photos for condition, and examples of areas with issues.This lovely bright quilt top measures approximately 79 x 66 inches. It has a combination of hand and machine piecing. There are some obvious feed sack stitch lines in these fabrics. Based on the fabrics and taking a look through Eileen Trestain's book, I'm thinking this one has a quite a variety of ages, maybe 1920s to 1940s. There's a lot of that clear mid-blue shade. The greens are kind of subdued or darker, not super-minty. As always, please make your own judgement on age. At time of listing, I have multiple quilt tops, quilts, and blocks from the same estate. Some have a note on them from the 1990s indicating that "Grandma Flossy" made this quilt, and one even says that she liked to start them but didn't like to finish them, a problem I'm sure many of us are familiar with. Based on the note dates, and the age of the person who wrote the notes, I think the Grandma Flossy ones start in the 1930s and go forward from there. I also have some bits that are clearly older than that.So help out Grandma Flossy and her foremothers! I'm sure she'd like it if you finished her quilts. I bet she also wouldn't mind if you took them apart to harvest blocks or fabrics, because having spent some time with her UFO stash, I can tell you that she had a good eye, and she never met a scrap she didn't like. Also, don't feel sad for her all her work. The family took a bunch of quilts to treasure…there were just too many for them to deal with.
