Description: Vintage August Schwer Black Forest Regula Cuckoo Clock 1 Day Movement West Germany Mrs. Edna loves clocks, but is not an expert on them. She is selling this one as-is because she is not sure if it works as well as it did when first manufactured or as well as it should. Here is what she can tell you: This appears to be a vintage August Schwer Black Forest one-day cuckoo clock. The clock case is wood. It is decorated on the front with a carved design that includes five leaves painted green and brown, and a colorful bird. The headboard top piece can be removed. The clock hands and numbers on the face are plastic. The bellows work. The clock cuckoos the correct number for each hour displayed and then only once on the half-hour mark. The door at the top opens and a little bird at the pops in and out with each cuckoo. It runs on a mechanical system that requires daily winding with two weighted pull chains. The chains are very, very long and the weights are shaped like pinecones that are marked "275 ET". It has a detachable wooden pendulum that is decorated with a leaf. There is a large hole on the back for hanging. It has been tested, works well, and seems to keep accurate time. Information marked on the movement mechanism inside the clock house reads in part: August Schwer Regula Made in West-Germany Synt.-Oil Clock 859 A 25-85 G.M. 1884288, 1892176 No 10 Jewels Unadjusted This item is in close to very good pre-owned vintage condition. There are some signs of wear from age, use and storage which includes but is not limited to scuff/scratch marks, small nicks/chips in the wood and paint, and some rust on various metal parts.
