Vintage USSR Soviet Union Dolls Set Wooden Hand Painted Nesting Dolls w Label

Description: Midcentury pre-1980 USSR handmade/painted babushka wooden nesting dolls. Some aging is noted to the hand painting on these near antique set. Mainly on the outer doll. Some paint fade with redder interior turned hollow nesting doll set, with the smallest doll being solid. Collectable handmade wood artistry. set. Pre Russian, Soviet period set. Original paper Label is partly intact. Made in USSR, with part of the D in USS 4044 still intact. Each piece is hand painted with the same red black a little green, on natural wood colors, with the red on the largest outer doll faded some, mostly on the front red. Each doll has slightly different expressions on the faces and lightly variable design due to the hand painted artistry. The largest doll has red lips with a bit of a smile and curly lace in black on her head and around the back. The second in size down has a black lip with a slight smile, rosy checks, curly lace at the bottom. The third doll has a black lip frown and closer set eyes. The solid small doll has a black lip with no expression, chin dimple, no lower lash line. Measurements from the tallest and down: 5 inches, 3-3/4 inches, 2-3/4 inches, 1-5/8 inches tall. Graduated sizes nest in the nest larger doll. Real vintage collectable USSR handmade/painted wood doll set. Label is fragile and in part missing. Listing will not take made in Soviet or USSR, but that is the name of the Russian empire before the brake up of the Soviet Union, USSR. The set is nearer to the midcentury timeline nearing antique. Most aging/fade is on the outer doll, very mild to no aging to the smaller dolls.
