The issue is the headphone jack it has a piece of metal broken off inside the hole - this player has 2 audio line outs one is for a car that (works with headphones/stereo) but does not have volume control - and one for headphones which has something stuck inside. The unit could be taken apart or possibly the piece could be pried out if someone wanted to try. The unit works well using the “line out” for audio - perfect for a car if not planned to use with headphones - uses 4 AA batteries with no corrosion in battery bay.
