Description: Vintage OOAK Primitive FOLK ART Quilt & Cross-Stitch 13" ANGEL Doll Click images to enlarge Description VINTAGE HAND MADE ANGEL DOLL Adorable hand made primitive OOAK angel doll measuring about 13-1/2" tall - wingspan is about 12". Featuring a wonderful, stylized Americana angel, body is tightly stuffed with batting and covered with a variety of embroidered, cross-stitch, quilted and tapestry scraps with touches of lace here and there. Wearing long blond braids, she sports tiny fabric flowers in her hair and face is hand-drawn - even her quilted vest has tiny mother of pearl buttons! Wings are partially threaded with a wire on the back so they have some structure. Condition is lovely with no tears, holes, separation or damage - all the typical imperfections of a hand made doll -- vest has been lightly tea dyed to mimic age and she stands independently (with a bit of persuasion) for display. Only thing of note - the wire on the wing backs has caused discoloration as shown - does not detract. I purchased her in 1993 from a local artist - just a wonderful folk art piece -- charming addition to any country home or Americana collection! If questions, please contact me - thanks!
