Description: Vintage KPM Japan Courting Couple (2) Figurines. A pair of KPM Japan figurines. A romantic courting couple. The male figure is dressed in a tan jacket, blue breeches and a floral vest. His jabot and cuffs are lace. He carries a black tricorn hat . His shoes are black with gild buckles. His hair is powdered and is tied back with a black ribbon. In his left hand there is a pink rose which he is holding out to the beautiful female figure. She is dressed in a blue bodice and a wide full pink skirt. Her sleeves and skirt are trimmed in lace . She is holding a raspberry colored parasol with a gold toned twisted metal handle. Pink roses are scattered on her skirt. Her hair is powdered and there is a burgundy bow in her curls. Gold gilt highlights the lace on both figures and their scrolled white platforms. They are both marked on the reverse in black KPM with a crown. These figurines were produced midcentury from about the 1940's to the 1960's. They both display beautifully. All measurements are approximate: Female figure stands 8 1/2" tall x 5" wide x 4 1/2" deep.Male figure stands 8 1/2" tall x 4 1/4" wide x 4 1/2" deep. Very good vintage condition to commensurate with age and use. There is one chip on the male figures lace cuff ( last photo ). No cracks or other chips.
