Description: This is the original, made by the Dopyera Brothers (DoBro). Made in either 1935 or 1936, just a couple of years after they set up their Dobro company, which was the pioneer of the pre-electric guitar. This appears to be a model 27, and it is a round neck (can be played as either a slide or fingered). This particular guitar was professionally restored by Scott MacDonald (customguitars.com) in a 12+ month-long process, just a few years ago. It has not been played very much since. During the restoration, we choose to keep the patina, age and grit of the piece, but fixed any mechanical/physical flaws and or damage. We made the decision to keep the neck as is; it has a slight bend to it, as you can see from the side picture. This doesn't inhibit slide at all, and numerous players have used this since and said it doesn't inhibit their finger work at all. I'm selling it only because I've had it several years now, and haven't had a chance to learn to play it, and I need the money for some medical bills. I'm not a professional musician, and am not a music instrument specialist. I represent that the above is accurate to the best of my knowledge, and after extensive research. The item is being sold as is, but when I lent it out to a musician friend recently he said it played really well, with unique and very good sound. He preferred it very much to his 1970s Regal dobro. It comes with a near new TKL arch top hard case, which was over $250.
