Description: Beautiful and rare antique Chinese blue glass pendants, often mistakenly called Peking glass, made in the early 20th century to be used as counterweights in Mandarin court necklaces. These have the soft colors and bubbles of old Chinese glass. This type of glass was often intended to simulate gemstones such as jade, lapis lazuli and quartz.. Each of these pendants is unique. Each has a metal cap, some with the remains of iridescent Kingfisher feathers, very popular in court jewelry. The length of the drop, cap and small glass bead atop averages 41mm and the width at the bottom of the pendant. These have been made into earrings. You could wear them as is or construct into a necklace or whatever else you like. Please look closely at the photos. These are old, so expect age related wear.
