Description: VINTAGE WOOD "BURMA SHAVE" HIGHWAY SIGN This is a nice old wood Burma Shave Highway sign.It is painted red background with white block lettering.These signs were used in the 50's and 60's in a series and gave a message using a number of signs all in a row that would be read as the car travelled along the 2-lane highways. NOTE: A collector of these signs on ebay wrote to inform me that the sign in this series actually dates back to 1934. Thanks for the info! I was going back to remebering seeing these along the highway near my hometown when I was a child.This one says "Bristles Scratched" on one side and Burma Shave on the backside. I'm not sure what the rest of the message might have been.A fun piece for wall decor!The sign measures 40" wide X 17" high with a 45" high post.Note: We will unbolt the post in order to ship.
