Description: THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT MY AUCTION. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND MY POLICIES BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID. Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list! This listing is for a vintage "Buescher True Tone" "Tru-Lay" Alto saxophone mouthpiece. This mouthpiece dates to the 1930's. It is the type that would have come with a "New Aristocrat", or a series 1 Aristocrat model alto from that era. It has a very large round chamber, and deeply scooped inner side walls. It is made of hard rubber. This piece has been worked on post-production. It appears to have been re-faced/opened up. The table and back half of the side rails are untouched, but there are work marks visible on the front half of the side rails, and the tip rail. Visually, the work actually looks decent, but the piece plays very stuffy and is not very responsive. It is by no means beyond salvation, but the facing needs to be corrected by someone who is more skilled at the craft. The current tip opening is .065", which is about .010" bigger than it would have been originally. Aside from the bad facing, this mouthpiece is in very good condition. The tip, table, and rails are perfectly smooth, and there are no tooth indentations on the beak. There is light scratching/scuffing on the exterior. The rubber is still black and shiny, and the logo is clear. This mouthpiece has been cleaned/sanitized. Please feel free to message me with any questions. Thanks again for looking! TMG-61
