Description: Help us save this orphaned doll. Rescued from estate sale leftovers, tossed in a box with odds and ends-is this handmade hosiery doll. The sewing machine desk sat next to her full of the thread, needles and thimbles used to create this doll. I can imagine it was made for someone who meant very much to this person. She is not perfect by any means, you can see from the pictures. I was able to maneuver her clothes off and soak them to remove much of the grime. She was gently wiped with wet cloth. Her bottoms do not have elastic and are way to big. Her slip is tacked in the back so it is difficult to remove. And for all these reasons, all the mistakes you might see, I hope you feel what we do when we find something so rare. This doll needs a home, maybe an alteration or two, but she deserves to be loved.
