Unfortunately that means it has dry rot. Though in this case the rot is not that bad. The fabric is not super brittle. It does take a little effort to make a rip as shown in the photos. This is definitely wearable or would make a nice display piece, but washing it could be risky. I am by no means a vintage shirt dry rot expert.
