Description: Title: Take Aim On November: Arts & The Handicapped Month Date: 1978 Location: Chicago, IL Size: 17” x 11” Condition: Sharp and clean, paper shows light aging at edges. Other: Vintage 1978 poster from Chicago's Artist-in-Residence program that never saw distribution. Conceived of and printed with the best intentions as part of an early advocacy campaign in support of the Disability Equal Rights Act, it somehow made it through the pipeline without anyone ever questioning the possible double meaning of taking aim on the handicap. Needless to say, the posters were pulled with only a handful surviving as a record. This even pre-dates the move to Disabilities over Handicapped.
