Description: This auction is for a very nice NEVER POSTED, ORIGINAL VINTAGE, "OPEN AIR CELEBRATION III" POSTER. THIS CONCERT WAS TO BE HELD ON SAT. AUG. 22ND. 1971, IN MIDWAY STADIUM IN MINNESOTA. THE HEADLINERS WERE TO BE JEFFERSON AIRPLANE, HOT TUNA, GREATFUL DEAD, THE WHO, AND OTHERS. BY THE TIME THE POSTER WAS PRINTED GREATFUL DEAD AND THE WHO WERE NOT INCLUDED. IN CHECKING I BELIEVE THAT THIS CONCERT WAS NEVER HELD AND NOT MANY OF THESE POSTERS WERE EVER PRINTED. BY THAT TIME THE HEADLINERS WERE ONLY JEFFERSON AIRPLANE AND HOT TUNA. THIS POSTER HAS CRISP AND CLEAR PRINTING AND THE COLOR IS GREAT. THE POSTER IS ON PAPER AND NOT ON CARDBOARD. THE SIZE IS ABOUT 23" BY 17 1/2". THIS ITEM WILL BE SHIPPED ROLLED AND IN A CARDBOARD TUBE. This would be a great addition to any 1970'S MUSIC COLLECTION and I believe that you would be very satisfied with the items.
