Description: For sale is a vintage 1950s Motorola model 5R1 AM band radio. A very desirable collector’s piece. This radio is being sold for parts or restoration as there is a hole drilled in one side and two cracks to the cabinet one on each side. The brown Bakelite is swirled and a good polishing would bring it out better. The knobs and tubes are correct. The knobs turn as they should. This particular radio has the red plastic off/on knob. The power cord is very flexible and usable. When plugged in, the radio came on but made the loud humming noise indicating that the electrolytic capacitors need replacing. Watch and listen to the video. Back cover is still present.speaker looks great. Still retains its original bottom metal chassis cover and the paper insulation that goes on top of it. Part of one of the housing where the chassis mounting screw goes in is chipped away but there is still enough left to secure the chassis. See pictures for best description and please ask questions. Will be packed well.I offer two shipping options for this item, please choose one.
