Through his art, he formed friendships with various Roman artists, particularly with Tommaso Cascella.At his family's request, Savinelli earned his degree in graphics. He also studied architecture and art history, and was an apprentice with Italian artist, Giulio Carlo Argan. Savinelli later moved to Bergamo, Italy, and began working as a teacher. At the same time, he attended the studio of Emilio Tonissi, where he learned the engraving technique. Savinelli and Tonissi together founded "The Art Shop" where they taught various artistic methods. For the last several years, Savinelli has lived in Germany, teaching engraving. His works are found in private collections in Italy and Germany.
