As it bears the inscription "A Mother's Work Is Never Done," it was presumably meant to be a gift for Mother's Day or for similar occasions. The figurine is hand-painted with a light pink shade complemented by a few other colors, and she holds a small dish that can be used for soap or a cleaning pad.
