Description: For sale is a vintage 1880 copy of Blind Peter. Written by Washington Frothingham, this book was published by Weed, Parsons & Co., Albany, New York. The book is 6.75" x 4.75" with 112 pages, including the appendix. This is the stated 14th printing of the book, which was apparently first printed in 1870. The book is small and this with the title in gilt with a textured, embossed cloth cover. It is a hardcover, with no dust jacket. The book is in good condition. The book has no marks or writing, and the binding is holding, although it may have cracked in one spot at page 24, where the webbing is visible. A good sniff in the book reveals that it has never been stored in a basement or near musty books. Shelf wear includes some bumped corners and spine wear. The book seems to be a first hand account of the author growing up in Ireland as a Catholic and ending up sober in the United States, somehow attached to Protestant churches. I didn't read the book, just leafed through it. Please feel free to ask any additional questions. Please look at my other auctions of books and music. All proceeds from this auction benefit the Northborough (MA) Town Library. These items were donated to the library and I volunteer all of my time to place them up on eBay. Local residents may avoid S&H fees by paying for and picking up books at the library. E-mail me for details. Thank you for supporting a community library.
