Description: Northern European, probably German or Belgian, Victorian era genre scene of the huntsman's return home on a snowy winter's day. It is a hand drawn charcoal on gray paper heightened with white chalk to render the snow capped farmstead. It is signed in the lower left, although I've been unable to decipher the name, it is dated for 1868. The image measures 8 3/8 x 10 3/4 inches, it shows some age toning around the very edges and some tape residue to the reverse top edge, otherwise excellent condition.
