Description: Very Rare Original WWII U.S. BOYT Harness Co. Leather Gun Rifle Case 1943. These are very hard to find, and rarely come up for sale. This one is in amazing condition, showing beautiful patina. American made by BOYT Harness Company. USA. Stamped “BOYT, 43” on the leather. It is constructed of very sturdy, thick leather, with brass straps, a large iron clasp, and internal hard wood, in order to provide the best protection for the rifle. It includes an internal leather storage pouch within the case lid. Time period correct hardware present. It appears to be missing the leather strap that would secure the lid. I believe this case would have been saddle mounted on a pack mule during the war, but could also have been carried in a vehicle. The D-Shaped case stands approximately 44 inches tall, is 6” by 7-7/8” at the big end, and is 5” by 5-3/8” at the small end. It weighs a hefty 13 pounds, 10 ounces.
