Description: RARE Opportunity to own a rare modernist Painting by Israeli statehood artist Arie Azene, y friend in Jerusalem who gifted me this painting in 2006 in Jerusalem. Arie is one of the original appointed statehood artists--one of 19 and the only surviving member of the group, which was designated by the State of Israel to established the "cultural founder artist" so to speak. This painting and my other listed painting hung in the 1980s exhibition at the Tel Aviv Art Museum. This is part of a comparatively small grouping of his various era, before he began painting in stark realism. The frames on both paintings are inscribed to me by Arie, "To Patti, Love, Arie Azene" I have other provenance such as emails detailing our visits etc and I used to stay next door to Arie in the Moresha neighborhood (used to be called Musrara). This painting has hung undisturbed for years and has normal condition status--no damage or marks, but as you can see it is a very organic piece--and beautiful. Please not it looks very grey in the pic but is actually a little bit brown grey tone--I will happily supply more images or answer questions, please. Thanks, P. Moss
