Description: One of Hiroshige Ando's works, 100 Famous Views of Edo. This is a print by Eikichi Uoya, a ukiyo-e publisher from the late Edo period. The bridge in the foreground is the Tobashi Bridge over Kanda Josui, and the one in the distance is the Sugatami Bridge. The bridge still remains today as a bridge with a shadow of its face. Because high-quality gravel could be extracted north of this bridge, the farming village that spread across the lowland area was also known as the "gravel village.'' Hiroshige is looking across the Kanda River from Nishi-Waseda to the slope that runs from the gravel village of Takada to Zoshigaya.
