Description: This body is from one of the 500 guitars Fender released in its Tele-Bration promotion in 2012. That year, Fender released a special run of 12 guitar styles that drew from Fender's history; this was Fender's take on the Custom Telecaster from 1962. You can see the 2011 production date in the neck pocket. Some yellowing of the thin nitro lacquer is apparent, especially when the pickguard is removed. But it looks a little more yellow in some of the pictures than it actually is. The first five pictures, taken with natural sunlight, are the best representation of the actual color. I've tried to also display the minimal scuffing that is apparent, but they photographed more clearly when taken under electric light. Those are the pictures that appear to be a little darker and shadowed. This body was a piece of a Partscaster with reissue 1964 pickups, and it has been maintained in a smoke-free home. It's been played out, but it's been treated lightly and well-preserved. I bought it used online for a project during Covid. It came with the black pickguard. I'll include it along with the black screws, which make for an attractive effect. When removing the pickups, I realized the pickguard is a Warmoth guard and not a Fender guard. I had never noticed or cared about the difference. Either way, it's an eight-hole guard that fits properly. Please note this auction is for the body (and pickguard) only, not the other parts of the guitar. Excerpted from Fender's description: The Tele-Bration '62 Telecaster Custom pays homage to the original custom Tele by offering an Olympic White lacquer finish bound in black binding. The Fender Tele-Bration '62 Telecaster Custom Features an Alder Body.
