Description: An extremely Rare Disney collectible A bit of history: Walt Disney signed his first contract with Pat Powers in late 1928 for the brand new Mickey Mouse sound cartoon series. After only a few months Walt & Roy Disney discovered the contract was a bad decision and decided to go with Columbia Pictures in 1929 for their new Silly Symphony series. Powers was miffed and Columbia elated. The relationship between Walt and Powers grew worse, strained to the breaking point in 1929, and Walt stopped making Mickey cartoons for Powers, ended their contract and immediately signed with Columbia in the Fall of 1929 for the upcoming year.Which is why Powers had access to only a handful of Mickey cartoons that were poorly distributed to theaters across the USA. Under Columbia all of the early Mickey Mouse cartoons (including Steamboat Willie) were seen for the very first time by millions. This special press book was the first to be sent to theaters promoting Mickey Mouse under their label.
