I put this kit together after I had several customers ask me how to best take care of the refurbished typewriters they have purchased from me. Though I send all my customers a basic care guide with their purchase, I felt this didn't do enough. So, I put together the basic tools I thought a new typewriter owner could use to maintain his or her beloved piece of mechanical art. As I've cleaned, restored, and refurbished typewriters, I've had the chance to use dozens of different products. The products I have chosen for this bag are tools I've returned to time and time again as I maintain or refurnish the typewriters I sell. I've used each of the items in my kit, and am confident that you'll find them just as useful as I do. **Typewriter Brush - Straight Bristle**This typewriter brush is designed like the brushes that came with mid-century Olympia typewriters. The brush features a hardwood handle and short, straight bristles. This brush is designed specifically for typewriters, and excels at tasks the average typewriter owner might expect to take, such as cleaning dried ink from type slugs. **Typewriter Brush - Perpendicular Bristle**This typewriter brush is designed like the brushes that came with mid-century Olympia typewriters. The brush features a wood handle with medium-length bristles perpendicular to the handle. This brush excels at cleaning carriage rails and other areas of typewriters that need to be cleaned regularly. **Bottle of Machine Oil**This bottle contains 10 ml (.33 ounces) of high-quality lily white machine oil. The bottle is plastic and comes with a needle applicator with a protective tip. The oil is low-viscosity lubricant designed for machines with moving parts, such as sewing machines, clocks, and, of course, typewriters. I ship the oil bottle in a plastic bag just in case there is any leakage during shipping. **Cotton Cloth**This is a 100% cotton cloth that I use in my shop. The cloth is about 13" x13" and is suitable for almost anything you might need to clean on a typewriter, be it dusting, cleaning, or polishing. I couldn't restore my machines without these. **Typewriter Care Instructions Card**This double sided, full color card shows a typewriter owner the basic steps required to clean and lubricate a manual typewriter.
