Triplanetary - Ship to Ship Space Combat with real Physics GDW Unpunched

Description: TriplanetarySpace Combat in the Solar System 2001 This is a copy of Triplanetary, designed by Marc Miller and John Harshman and published by Game Designers' Workshop in 1981. Triplanetary is a game-simulation of interplanetary conflict in the early 21st Century. Spaceships of various strengths and capabilities use vector movement to flit across the Solar System in scenarios reproducing the future conflicts of piracy, alien invasion, interplanetary war, and political oppression. Triplanetary is a classic game of ship-to-ship combat in the solar system. Unlike most space combat games, it uses vector movement - each ship's movement vector is drawn on the map with a grease pencil each turn, and a ship will continue moving on the same vector unless it accelerates or enters a gravity well. While the game still simplifies lots of things in order to be playable (the rules are only 6 pages long), it's more realistic than most such games. This edition was published in 1981 - the rules were changed somewhat, the components were changed considerably (there's now a flat plastic-coated map instead of the original paper map and acetate sheet), and scenarios were changed and added (there are 8 scenarios, for 2 up to any reasonable number of players). This is an extra superior copy. It was stored in my warehouse for several decades in shrink wrap. I could not confirm that the shrink wrap was original factory so, like all shrink wrap of a certain vintage (40 years + old), it was a bit worn so I removed it. The box is clean and clear and the inside is also crispy clean and new. The game is unpunched and unmolested by even this human’s hands.
