Description: This is a vintage antique sample of corn planter check row wire. This sample features an Asa Thompson patent,dated December 04, 1883. This trip is called "Thompson's Cast Iron Padlock" by collectors. (ref Goedert & Green #208-B). This wire features a cast iron round ball with side grooves and raised loop on one end. Wire sample shows light pitting. There is one trip, and wire sample is 18" in length. Trip is well centered. There are no kinks or breaks in line. .
