Description: Chat Noir Cabaret by Theophile Alexandre Steinlenis a hand pulled, fine art poster lithograph of the original advertising poster. It is sequentially numbered in pencil by the curator at S2 Editions. It created the iconic poster art in 1886 to promote impresario Rudolphe Salis', Le Chat Noir Cabaret, French for The Black Cat. The first of its kind, Le Chat Noir is considered the first modern cabaret or nightclub where patrons could sit at tables and enjoy alcoholic drinks while watching live entertainers on stage. This lithograph was pulled on a 19th century French Marinoni Voirin press on Rives BFK archival paper. This is not print or reproduction. It is a remastered, recreated, original work of art. This lithograph bears the trademark of the Re Society, plus the blind stamped emblem of the S2 Editions Atelier. The signature of the chromist is also printed unobtrusively on this lithograph in order to distinguish it from the original Golden Age poster. Comes with a certificate of authenticity by S2 Art Group, Ltd. Measures
