I myself made this mistake many, many years ago. After getting my book signed by the legendary Ray Bradbury, I was treated to a few minutes of wonderful conversation with the author, (one of favorites). So engrossed in what he was saying, without thinking I casually placed my thumb right on his signature. I didn't realize my mistake until later and I somehow managed to smear the ink/name to such an extent that it was barely legible. This was an awful mistake on my part, one in which I have never repeated, but I still cherish that particular book and the memory of what he said while I was holding it. Back to this lovely book... A First American Edition/Sixth Printing. The number line ends with "6". Please remember this is NOT the First Edition/First Printing of this title! This is the Sixth Printing of the First Edition. Sometimes referred to as an Early Printing or a Later Printing. Once again, this is NOT a First Edition/First Printing. This rare treasure has some very clearly visible wear but is still in Highly Desirable, Highly Collectible condition! The wear, however, should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. The book appears gently read and has no internal writing, no remainder marks, no missing pages and is NOT Ex-Libris or a BCE. The binding is holding tight and the pages are still surprisingly crisp and clean! Some general/shelf wear along with creases/scuffing/wear to the spine/corners/boards, particularly noticeable near/along the edges, marks/wear to the edge/fore pages and creases/wear to the pages, NOT affecting the text! Please note the wear that is present on the pages, particularly noticeable on certain pages! All of the wear previously mentioned, (particularly to the pages), is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. The original dust jacket is fully intact and NOT price-clipped! Some general/shelf wear along with creases, scuffing, marks and scratches/chipping. Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners and near/along the edges! The wear, particularly near/along the edges, is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered.
