The clock shows the correct time and date and the internal Lithium battery for maintaining settings has just been replaced with a fresh cell - so it should be good for a number of years now. Note that one vertical line of pixels in the display doesn't function - see photos. Also the serial port is the optional RS-485 type so a converter will be needed if you want to communicate with a PC's RS-232 port. A basic puck antenna is included to allow you to test the unit immediately upon receipt. For a permanent installation and accurate time/frequency generation a professional grade outdoor antenna with a clear view of the sky will be required. I can provide a recommendation if required - the antenna voltage is 5V so almost any professional grade outdoor antenna can be used. The LCD display does have a backlight.
