Description: “Student Society Stein” Mold No. 1526 German ceramic, hand-painted, 1/2 L, pewter lid.Wappen / Coat of Arms reads, "Concordia Crescamus" latin translates to, "Let us grow in harmony" & "Academischer Turnverein München" translates to "Academic Gymnastics Club Munich" by Mettlach circa 1891 - 132 years old! Condition and Description: Overall in excellent condition (only minor quibble is an original factory flaw, a very small pocket/hole located on the underside edge of the base, it does not continue through to the interior - exactly as pictured). I am not an expert on German Student Societies, but this Wappen / Coat of Arms is quite striking! The lid is engraved with initials, the thumblift is of a detailed Munich Child and on the side/rear of the body there are the names Heimbach & Kempf along with a date of Chrimstmas 1891. So the stein was potentially a Christmas gift? Really neat stein. Dimensions: Height: ~6.75" tall from base to top of thumbliftWidth: ~3.7" at the base On the subject of shipping and handling, I have a 100% success rate(knock on wood) with the steins I have packed and shipped arriving to their new homes in perfect condition. This stein will be well packed and shipped fully insured, USPS priority or Fedex home. Also, in addition to combining shipping for multiple lots won - I am willing to ship internationally, just let me know before you bid. eBay's global shipping program does not allow for a combined invoice/shipping, so please keep that in mind as an international bidder. Please feel free to message me with any questions, and thanks for looking!
