Sterling Restaurant China Sample ? Boxberry Pattern Cup and Saucer Excellent!

Description: Sterling Restaurant China Sample ? Boxberry Pattern Cup and Saucer Excellent! Up for auction is a wonderful sample set (I think) of Sterling restaurant ware china cup and saucer that I believe is in the lovely pattern called Boxberry. I am not sure that these are sample pieces but they both have a red and white round paper Sterling on their bases identifying each piece. Because the stickers are there, I can not read the mark and did not want to remove these stickers since I think they are really the neatest part of this set. The cup measures about 2 1/4" high, 3 3/4" in diameter and 4 3/4" from edge of handle to opposite rim of cup. I'm sure there is a mark on the base but I can't read it due to the sticker. The Sticker says "STERLING, Baston (or is that Boston) cup Boxberry, East Liverpool, Ohio" The "Baston cup Boxberry" is in someone's handwriting, who probably worked at the factory. The saucer measures about 6" in diameter and is marked on the base with the same sticker but it says "STERLING, Hudson Saucer Boxberry, East Liverpool, Ohio". I see part of an ink mark under the sticker but can't read the entire mark. Both pieces of this lovely cup and saucer set are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. There are just a few tiny, superficial scratches on the saucer where the cup sits--so minor. On the base rim of the cup there is one small factory flaw--a small line, but not a crack--see photo--definitely from the factory. This set is really near perfect! What a lovely Sterling China cup and saucer set in the lovely Boxberry pattern that may be sample pieces to add to your collection!
