Description: Item details Quantity: 1 set as photoTotal weight: 431 grams Description Soviet photo camera Chaika 2, half format, half frame, made in USSR. ---------------------------------- "Chaika-2" is a Soviet scale half-format camera. The second model from the family of the same name. It was produced in 1967-1972 by the Minsk Mechanical Plant named after S. I. Vavilov (Belarusian Optical and Mechanical Association). It differs from the first "Chaika" by a removable lens and a modified appearance. The mount is threaded M39×1, but the working distance is 27.5 mm, not 28.8 mm. The reason for the appearance of a removable lens on a half-format camera is unknown, interchangeable optics were not produced, whether production was planned is unknown. Lenses from the FED and Zorki rangefinder cameras do not fit the Chaika (and vice versa, from the Chaika to the FED and Zorki, vignetting appears) (the rangefinder lever pusher ring on the lens rests against the disk behind which the central shutter parts are located), and the working distance does not match. In some cases, it was possible to install a modified rangefinder lens. In conditions of a shortage of cameras with a removable lens, Soviet amateur photographers took advantage of this opportunity. Thus, in the 70s and 80s, tables for using Chaika cameras with extension rings for microfilming were published in the magazines Sovetskoye Foto and Modelist-Konstruktor; 72 pages fit on one film when shooting a book spread, and reading was done with an inexpensive children's filmstrip. ---------------------------------- The buyer will receive exactly the same item as in the photo.
