Offered for sale is a copy, in good condition, of Sir Christopher Hatton's Book of Seals. This edition appears to have been published by subscription. This copy was owned by Prof. L.V.D. Owen, then of Nottingham--it seems that Owen donated his copy to the library of another university, from which it was withdrawn (see figs. 11-13). The book retains the stamps, stickers, and paste-downs of that institution. The jacket is lacking, but there is little evidence of circulation: the interior is free of annotations, underscores, &c. The front cover is bowing modestly, and the volume is slightly cocked. The end-papers are toned. The spine and a portion of the front board are heavily sunned.
