Manufactured by Jennings Bros - Material is gilt metal and cobalt blue glass . This 'Chalice' Candy Dish is by Jennings Bros who innovated a process by which 'ornate jewelry boxes' could be replicated by the casting process for affordable sale to the average person. They used that casting process to create a myriad of pieces with which they established an internationally successful business. This covered dish is beautifully designed and cast. It is decorated throughout with a combination of flowers , fruits , foliage and baroque ornament. The glass insert 'bowl' is conical in shape and is a beautifully rich cobalt blue color. It's a truly exquisite little covered bowl and really could serve almost any purpose - including being simply decorative. Priced very reasonably
