There are 5 guides including the tip. All are nice and tight. The rod has been thoroughly cleaned and I applied U-40 Cork Seal to the handle. On the rod it reads the following “Shimano SCIMITAR Graphite Rods Shimano SMS-66M-2 Length: 6’6” Line WT: 6-14lb Lure WT: 1/8-5/8 oz. Power: Medium Action: FastGrip Style: Split -- Rear Grip Length 7 3/4 in. -- Fore Grip Length 3 in. The rod weighs 4.1 oz.The Shimano 200Q is much older than the rod but is up to the challenge. It has been cleaned and lubricated with Penn reel Oul. All functions work very well. The reel has AX Bio Grip - Ball Bearing Rotor - Quickfire II - Graphite Spool - Line: 6 Lb.-180 Yards-8 Lb.-140 Yards-10 Lb.-105 Yards.
