Description: You are purchasing a: Sheila's Wood Figurine Decor BANTA HOUSE Osceola, Iowa This Queen-Anne Victorian house was built by J. V. Banta in 1897. The Banta house is a mirror image of a floor plan from the well known architect, George Franklin Barber. This house was the cover illustration for the premiere issue of Architect's magazine, American Homes. A Journal Devoted to Planning, Building and Beautifying the Home in 1895. Barber was dissatisfied with the state of American architecture in general and attempted to improve the quality through his mai-order designs. Barber felt that a perfect house should look as if it had grown where nature intended. Signed Limited Edition 2533/4000 ACL12 Sheila©1995 5¼" x 6 1/8" x 1" Made in U.S.A.
