Scarce F-VF MINT NH PRECANCEL JOINT LINE, GAP and Reg. Strps of 6 #1616b-0.5mm

Description: Hello! This auction is for 3 MINT NEVER HINGED, Fine-Very Fine Strips of 6 of Scott #1616b, the PRECANCELED, DULL GUM 9c Capitol Dome coil, from the Americana Series. These strips are precanceled "PRESORTED FIRST-CLASS" and are the SCARCE variety that has 0.5mm between lines of text (Precancel Stamp Society type 2.1). One is a Joint Line/Precancel Gap strip of 6, one is a precancel gap strip of 6 and the last is a regular strip of 6. Also included in this lot are the more common precancel varieties with 2.0mm between lines of text (PSS type 2.2). With this type, a regular pair, Joint line pair and precancel gap pair are included. The Scott catalogue does not value this scarce variety, but the 2018 Brookman catalogue values a F-VF Joint line pair at $450 and singles at $50. The 2020 Scott catalogue DOES value the common varieties at $21.75 for the Joint Line, Precancel Gap and regular pairs. Total value of this lot (not including premium for precancel gap on scarce variety) is $1271.75. This strips and pairs are in excellent condition--the gum is immaculate with no gum skips or fingerprints. Commonly found used, these are infrequently found with never hinged original gum.
