I believe these are made of polyresin (read definition below), though they sure feel and sound like metal. They are a good heavy weight to hold your books. Each bookend measures approximately 6.5” tall 5.5” long and 3.75” wide. The base appears to be metal with a soft shelf-saver base. Sticker on bottom of one reads San Pacific Int’l SPI, San Francisco USA, Made in China. A polyresin is a durable stone based compound such as Alabastrite which is formed by combining oxylite and polystone. It is easy to sculpt and can be melted to a soft form and pressed into molds. It holds paint well and can look like porcelain, but it is heavier and more durable than porcelain. Pre-owned in very good condition. No damage. Notes from the cats.......
