Description: This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Henry M. Rose patent, dated December 25, 1877. This wire is called "Rose's Wide Wrap Two Point Barb on Single Round Line" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 92-B). This wire features a single heavy gauge round line wire. Barbs are two pointed made from a single round barbing wire. Barbs are wrapped in a spiral around the line wire. Wire sample shows light to moderate pitting. There are five barbs. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. There is some light bending of barbing points, but no broken, or missing barbing points.
