Description: This is a first edition of Rocket Ship Galileo, written by Robert A. Heinlein and published by Scribners in 1947, complete with the requisite “A” and publisher’s seal on the copyright page. The book is a hardcover with a new FACSIMILE (reproduction) dust jacket and the book is in very good condition but for bumping to the corners and spine ends, some light rubbing, soiling, shelfwear and edgewear to the boards, a prior owner’s name (small, less than 1/4” high by less than 1-1/2” wide) stamped to the endpapers in several places (specifically, stamped to the front pastedown endpaper, front free endpaper, rear pastedown endpaper, and rear free endpaper (twice)). There is some very light wrinkling to the top corners of only the first dozen or so pages. The endpapers have moderate and even toning and the toning to the interior pages is light-moderate and even. Please see photographs as to condition. This book would be a great addition to any science fiction collection and is a must-have for fans of Heinlein's work. Aside from the prior owner’s name-stamps, previously noted, the book contains no writing, highlighting, or underlining. This edition is a true 1st edition, 1st printing, with both the "A" and the Scribner’s colophon present on the copyright page. The facsimile dust jacket is brand new and enclosed in a removable mylar protector. This book is not remaindered, not ex-library, and not a book club edition. It will be shipped bubble wrapped in a box.
