This 500 Pesos from the Dominican Republic is an extremely rare note in issued format. Only 7,000 were printed, and the enormous face value of this note limited its circulation and guaranteed a near exhaustive redemption. At the time of circulation, the Peso was pegged to USD, which made this one of the highest denomination banknotes in the Americas! At the time of cataloging, a mere three pieces have been graded in the PMG Population Report. An important banknote that is virtually unseen in issued format.
