Description: Vintage ORIGINAL Political Ribbon featuring Reed Green ILLINOIS POLITICO DEMOCRAT of Cairo, Illinois (Alexander County). Ribbon measures 1 7/8" wide X 6 1/2" long. Overall, very light soiling and age toning. Horizontal crease at midpoint of ribbon. As can be seen in the scans, small area of material missing just above "Hon.". Some rubbing to the lettering on the ribbon. Lastly, just above "Congress", the ribbon is split and only a 1/8" amount of material along the left edge is still holding the bottom 1 1/2" area to the ribbon. EVEN WITH THE CONDITION ISSUES OF THIS RIBBON, MORE THAN LIKELY, YOU WON'T HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE ANOTHER. IN ALL OF MY YEARS OF COLLECTING ILLINOIS POLITICAL ITEMS, THIS IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE I HAVE EVER SEEN.
