Description: Or save it to favorites and we'll tell you if this item goes on sale! Custom made farm table with salvaged wood from a Historic Home near Staunton Virginia. The home, known as the Mary Buck House, was built in three stages which was common at the time. In 1813 a stacked 2 x 2 was built followed by a hallway and adjoining stacked 2x2 in 1830. The wood from this table is from the winter kitchen that was added in 1865. This beautiful, one of a kind piece is made with a knotty pine that features worm and nail holes that displays its history beautifully. It is finished naturally with a tung oil & orange oil. Following the tradition of the time. the table was built with wood dowels and painted a rich, dark hunter green. Features a large, deep center drawer perfect for utensils. Bench made by craftsman Tom Gross, a retired army colonel following his father's great love of woodworking and history. This listing is for the table shown. But Tom is glad to make bespoke pieces as salvaged/antique wood becomes available. You may also arrange pick-up via USHIP (or other service).
